Forced Convection vs Natural Convection

Forced convection ovens or incubators use a fan to actively circulate hot air, ensuring uniform temperature distribution and faster heating. In contrast, natural convection rely on gravity-driven airflow, where hot air rises and cooler air sinks. This results in slower, less uniform heating but gentler airflow, ideal for sensitive samples.

Consistent and Accurate Temperature Control

Both Natural Convection Incubators feature a 3-point calibration system that delivers precise temperature regulation. The IB4-V enhances this with Ramp Control™, allowing users to define temperature rise rates. Each unit ensures uniform airflow, maintaining ±0.55 °C at 37 °C—critical for reproducible experimental outcomes in any laboratory.

Touchscreen Interface for Efficient Operation

Designed for usability, the IB4-S features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, while the IB4-V offers a 5-inch interface displaying real-time data, alerts, and trends. Both incubators include a ‘Wait on / Wait off’ timer and suggest commonly used temperatures, simplifying setup and improving workflow accuracy.

Get Connected

Monitor and control your chamber remotely using the LC Connected mobile app when paired with the LC GreenBox. This convenient setup allows you to access real-time data, adjust settings, and ensure reliable performance from anywhere. All collected data can be easily exported as Excel or text files for seamless reporting and further analysis.

Advanced Connectivity and Data Integrity

Data management is made seamless with RS-232/USB support for PC connection. Integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) allows for immediate environmental response. For labs needing remote control, the optional LC GreenBox provides mobile access. Additionally, 21 CFR Part 11 compliance through LC DataKeeper supports regulatory and GMP needs.

Safety and Compliance for Laboratory Confidence

Safety is embedded in the design. Both incubators include an Over Temperature Limiter and Jeiotech’s patented overheating prevention system (Patent 10-0397583). Compliance with IEC Class II and DIN 12880 Class 3.1 ensures full protection for sensitive samples. The system logs the last 12 operational events for complete traceability.

Minimize Risk of Incubation Failure

To extend media viability, an optional water tray helps delay drying. If a power failure occurs, operation resumes within 30 seconds, minimizing disruption. A lockable control interface prevents accidental changes, while audiovisual alerts immediately notify users of abnormalities—ideal for high-precision environments.

Compact, Stackable Design for Space Optimization

Optimized for tight bench spaces, both Natural Convection Incubators feature a double stackable design. With an optional stacking set, you can expand capacity without compromising valuable workspace—especially useful for compact laboratories in South Africa.
