Booking a Shipping Consignment

  1. Once a decision has been made as per Shipping Quotes Workflow Process we would need to book the consignment for collection.
  2. The Accounts Admin will instruct the forwarder to proceed with the shipment
  3. The forwarder will acknowledge receipt and confirm the person that will be handling the shipment
  4. This information is forwarded to our supplier so they can make contact from their side if they need to.
  5. The forwarder will make contact with the supplier to arrange collection.
  6. When collection is made from supplier, the forwarder will inform us on the ETS (Estimated Time of Sail) for Sea Freight or ETD (Estimated time of departure) for Air Freight and the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival).
  7. Update the Order Register with the ETS/ETD/ETA.
  8. For Sea Freight the forwarder provides updates on the ETA by sending through a spreadsheet with the Supplier PO reference or estimate reference.
  9. For Air Freight we insert the tracking number into the TNT website for ETA.
